    Vice-President communication:

    Tracy Davidson

Tracy Davidson is currently serving as the PMI of Northern Utah VP of Communication, before this she served as the Director of Communications. Tracy earned her PMP certification in 2006 and is a tri-lingual (English, Portuguese, and Spanish) BYU alumna. She is currently a Business Manager in Publishing Services working for the LDS Church. Prior to this she worked in Human Resources with data analytics, international training development and testing. She is a self-confessed process and data geek and loves to sort out how things work.

The professional journey that led her to the Church’s doorstep has been diverse. Her initial foray into the workforce was via the fast-paced, highly professional environment of a Fortune 100 company where she gained exposure to relationship and communication management, receiving formal training in project management, attaining PMP and Six Sigma certifications, then becoming a departmental PM trainer. She became deeply involved in the customer service/vendor management world, launching call centers both domestically and internationally, before moving into a PMO, followed by the Strategic Operations group. Unfortunately, due to global layoffs, it was time to find a new home.

As a contractor, a temporary home was found with a West-Coast start up tech company doing some innovative wiki work, technical writing, and exploratory customer service in India and China as Cloud tech was becoming the new-new thing. When the contract was up, a new, more permanent dream home was found in running inner-city community and youth enrichment programs. It was hard work, complex, and full of obstacles, but it made a daily difference and that was exciting. All of this work through the years involved complexity in partnerships, project and program management, and was a great source of growth and learning.

It has been a wild ride, eclectic, full of great people and some extraordinary experiences. Tracy loves people and seeks to build good things wherever she works—people, programs, products or projects—and it’s fun, and hard, and frustrating, and rewarding—and ultimately worth it. She is enthusiastic about teaching and learning and believes that you do both things by choice and you get out what you choose to put in. Outside of work she is a photographer and writer, reads and collects books, delights in her cheery, nutty family, pampers her aging, hippy mother, and chills with her semi-introvert engineer husband. She lives in the sunshine, swims the sea, and drinks the wild air, per Ralph Waldo Emerson’s counsel.
