Eligibility & Instructions

To be considered for PMINUC PMO of the Year:

Eligibility Criteria & Competition Format

  • PMOs from any industry, sector, in Utah are eligible to participate.
  • Enterprise, Business Unit, Departmental, Program, or Project PMOs are eligible to participate.
  • Multiple PMOs from a single organization are eligible to participate.
  • Current PMI staff, PMI contractors, and PMI consultants are not eligible to apply for this award.
  • Nominees will compete in successive rounds against each other in a one-on-one format based on the set criteria.
  • The contest will be assessed by a group of judges assigned to select the winner according to the established criteria.
  • In cases where there is a tie, the tiebreaker will involve a comparison of performances based on each criterion, beginning from the last and working towards the first. Should the tie persist, a public draw will be conducted to establish the winner of the match.
Evaluation Criteria:
  • Adherence to Best Practices: This criterion examines the project’s service delivery approach, including the methodologies and techniques employed. It assesses alignment with industry's best practices and the project team's commitment to continuously improving its services. This factor contributes 35% to the overall evaluation.
  • Innovation and Adaptability: This criterion looks at how the project team has implemented innovative solutions to overcome challenges and the impact of these innovations on achieving tangible results for the organization. It accounts for 25% of the total assessment.
  • Value Creation and Impact: This criterion assesses the tangible benefits and outcomes delivered by the project team to its customers, stakeholders, and the wider organization. It also examines the project’s influence on the role in enhancing senior management engagement and sponsorship levels. This is the most significant criterion, holding a weight of 25%.
  • Community Engagement and Culture: This aspect evaluates the project team’s role in fostering a vibrant project management community within the organization. It considers how the project contributes to the evolution of organizational culture and promotes sharing experiences and lessons learned. This criterion is weighted at 15%

Important Dates:

  • 5 January 2026 - Nominations open
  • 20 February 2026 - Nominations close
  • 27 March 2026 - Finalist Candidates notified
  • 29/30 April 2026 - Honorees awarded at PDC

For the winner and runners up, minimal details of the PMO must be allowed to be published on the PMINUC website and social media posts following conclusion of the contest.  These include company name and benefits/value realized by the PMO.
